Our fifteen rooms grant visitors a unique opportunity to bed down in concert with the cosmos under crisp cool cotton comforters, a Mayan-inspired thatched roof, a sheltering sky and a symphony of stars. At Villa Sumaya where earth meets the sky and the stars literally tumble to the horizon, communing with nature, comet-countdowns, sunset-spotting and tequila twilights along with meditative mornings are high on the agenda. Come enjoy a perfect inner/outer body experience!
Each room is carefully appointed, with a private bathroom that has all the modern conveniences, and a spacious veranda where the lake is a stage. The veranda showcases the best of Lake Atitlan and Guatemala´s timeless nature and history. In your room you'll be surrounded by flowing fabrics (the hallmark of Guatemalan artistry), hand-crafted ceramic tiles, wooden furnishings mixed and matched in a down-to-earth duo of adobe browns, indigo blues and stone-washed sienna. We can accommodate up to 33 guests.

In some rooms we can add a twin bed. Children under 12 stay free. Discounts on meals for kids. Babysitting service available for $5 per hour.
All Prices are subject to the current exchange rate from Dollars to Quetzales. These prices are based on a 7.5 rate (7.5 quetzales to 1 dollar). Guatemalan Taxes of 22% are not included. We have special pricing for May, June, September, and October. During holidays in December and Easter, prices may vary.
ARRIVING TO OUR GUEST HOUSE: We are happy to arrange for transportation from the airport or other locations in Guatemala to Panajachel. From Panajachel you will have to take a boat to our dock. We can arrange for a private boat or you can take a public boat (Please remember to let the boat driver know, the Villa Sumaya dock). All transportation is not included in our rates.

Meal Rates
We are proud to provide our guests with delicious buffet style vegetarian meals. Each day our chef creates a scrumptious and bountiful array of foods that will satisfy you. Chicken and Fish can be ordered separately. Traditional Guatemalan snacks are available between meal times from our kitchen. Our brand new juice bar also offers a host of raw snacks including cacao bliss balls, home made fresh energy bars and dehydrated fruit rolls. A variety of exotic smoothies made from local tropical ingredients, kambucha tea and a variety of organic teas that will quench your thirst with healthful delight. We also offer beer and wine and some mixed drinks. No outside alcohol please.

There is a 10% service charge on all cafe bills.
Other Services
We do have internet access for emails only. Our center is on a satelite system and are unable to offer any type of downloading or uploading.
Our housekeeping staff is happy to provide laundry service at $3.00 per pound.
We are proud to provide spa services to our guests. Services vary depending on time of year.
Cancellation Policy
We appreciate your business and we hope you'll have a chance to stay with us, however, please note that we require seventy two-hour advance notice for cancellation of any reservation in ordinary times. During Easter, Christmas, New Year's or any other major holiday period we require two weeks notification. If cancellations are not made in writing within the time periods indicated above, the deposits or payments required for reservations will not be refundable.
Gratuity
We encourage our guests if they have enjoyed their experience with us to leave a $3.00 -$7.00 per person per day tip depending on what is included in their package. The gratuity will be split appropriately between the entire staff at the hotel. Our employees so appreciate the generosity of our guests.
