We invite you to pause and exhale. Take an honest and creative dive inward and awaken to the fullest expression of yourself surrounded by the majestic volcanoes and resplendent waters of Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.
Join Stephanie and Anne at Villa Sumaya, an eco-resort nestled in a secluded lakefront cove, for an exclusive retreat to remind you of your connection to others, to nature and to your own heart. Reset and reconnect on this 5-day retreat, immersing yourself in the healing aspects of daily meditation, yoga and self-exploratory writing. Spend your days hiking to nearby towns, swimming in the pristine lake, or simply lounging in a hammock enjoying the splendor and tranquility of your surroundings. Together we’ll also spend a day exploring a local Mayan village to connect with the people and culture which surround the deepest lake in Central America. Our adventure will close with a Fire Ceremony, thought to be one of the most powerfully transformative rituals in the Mayan culture.
We welcome you to awaken and uncover the light that shines from within, so you can go forth in the world as a beacon of your truest self.
Anne believes yoga has the power to transform one’s life from the inside out, providing students the tools to bring strength and ease into their lives to confidently face whatever life experiences come their way. Her classes emphasize mindfulness, alignment and a strong connection to breath in order to build strength, flexibility, and mental clarity. She is a certified E-RYT-200 (Yoga Tree, San Francisco) and RYT-500 (Brenna Geehan and Jean Mazzei at Sri Yoga).
Stephanie’s goal as a teacher is to hold a space for students to find liberation; providing guidance in asana (physical poses), mediation and pranayama (breath work) to invigorate the body and quiet the mind. Her teaching incorporates intuitive hands-on assistance, driven by her passion for helping student’s deepen their practice and find space in poses not otherwise attainable. She hopes to share her passion for yoga and the positive effects it can bring to life and the community. Stephanie is a registered Yoga Alliance Teacher certified by Yoga Tree, 200hr.
