Awaken at Atitlán / Paradise Taylor

February 20, 2027 - February 27, 2027

A Journey to the Heart of Practice

Join Paradise Taylor on the shores of Guatemala’s stunning Lake Atitlán, where three ancient volcanoes cradle crystal blue waters said to hold powerful and grounding energy. This sacred lake, known to the Maya as a place where earth and sky meet, offers the perfect backdrop for stillness, reflection, and renewal.

Here, the days move gently with the rhythm of the water. Mornings begin with mindful movement and breath, evenings close with gentle practices and quiet contemplation. In between, there is time to rest, explore, and simply be held by the beauty of the natural world.

Each session invites you to return to what matters most, to rediscover the heart of your practice, and to listen deeply for the wisdom that arises in stillness. Whether you are seeking inspiration, connection, or peace, this retreat offers a space to ground, soften, and awaken.

During your week, you’ll receive daily yoga classes and workshops, healing foods, and sacred Mayan ceremonies. There is plenty of time built in to rest, receive spa services, explore, play, and adventure!

On and Around Lake Atitlan, many options and extras are available including swimming, kayaking, boat rides around Lake Atitlan, birdwatching, hiking the San Pedro Volcano, a shopping excursion to Panajachel, guided village tours to Santiago, San Juan, Santa Catarina, San Antonio, and the Chichicastenango Market.

The opportunity to recharge in a natural setting such as this is a true gift from mother earth herself. Let the practice of yoga reflect the vision of your best self in this land of serene mountains and dancing waters.

Paradise Taylor

Paradise’s love of dance, fitness, and movement brought her to her yoga mat over 20 years ago. It didn’t take long for her to discover that Yoga was her true passion as it provides an endless journey of self-discovery, mindfulness, and a sense of balance and calm throughout her life. After years of reaping the benefits of yoga personally Paradise felt the desire to give back and to share yoga with others through teaching. She has since become a certified 500-hour Yoga instructor and has held space at multiple studios in Austin (Sukha yoga, Balance Dance, Yoga Yoga, etc.).  She has certification and experience teaching Hatha and Vinyasa yoga, Ashtanga yoga, Yin yoga, as well as yoga for body positivity.  Additionally, she has led/is leading multiple international yoga retreats.

Paradise combines energetic forms of yoga such as Flow and Vinyasa with quieter practices of Yin and Restorative, for a well-rounded class. In whatever style she is teaching she brings a warm, welcoming aura that empowers her students to grow in the practice by fostering a challenging and nurturing environment. She encourages playfulness, honesty, and enjoyment as each student explores and creates their individual practice and experience. Paradise believes passionately in yoga’s ability to unite oneself and those around you in a positive environment of personal growth.
