Pure Ananda Yoga Retreat: A Transformative Journey Back to Self / Erica House
April 26, 2025 - May 3, 2025
Erica invites you to join her on this transformative journey back to Self through the power of Yoga on Lake Atitlán, nominated as one of the Seven Wonders of the World and arguably the world’s most beautiful lake. Set against a dreamscape of pure ananda (bliss), we will practice Yoga movement, breath-work and cultivate mindfulness in the morning and evening. The amalgamation of Yoga, lake-side meditation, 3 clean meals daily, rest and/or adventure will create an exquisite balance of respite and rejuvenation.
We will meet for Yoga practice twice daily. A.M. classes are designed to awaken and invigorate in preparation for your day of discovery that awaits. For the afternoon you can choose your own adventure. Take advantage of the numerous à la carte activities Villa Sumaya offers including SUP, hiking tours, Shamanic healing, Mayan culture, coffee tours, et al. If you are feeling mellow, bask on a lounge chair by the lake or pool or in the solar-heated hot tub, or bliss out in the spa while you give yourself permission to just be. The day is yours. P.M. classes will include Yin, Restorative and Nidra with offerings of Reiki sprinkled in to help you transition to slumber. Sleep, wake up, repeat.

Meet your teacher:
Travel, adventure, connections, languages, the arts, hikes, standup paddle boarding, speaking French, her dog, and of course the practice of Yoga are but a few of Erica’s favorite things. Erica seeks the extraordinary in the ordinary, and she loves life in a variety of shapes and textures.
Erica was called to Yoga over 15 years ago when she was diagnosed with chronic migraine. The practice became a passion and lifestyle and led Erica to want to facilitate the practice for individuals in search of their way back to center, to Self. While Erica appreciates an alignment–based practice, she recognizes the importance of listening to one’s own intuition.
She feels the movement of Yoga is like a dance, uniting awareness and curiosity while accessing an embodied experience through the guidance of the breath. For Erica, life is a balance between the opposites, and she applies this philosophy to her practice of Yoga and life.
Erica’s classes are empowering and accessible, offering a somatic approach by taking a deep dive into the inner landscape of the body. She will meet you where you are on your mat. Erica is CYT 500, certified in Children’s Yoga, and is a certified Reiki II practitioner.
Erica resides in Lexington, KY where she has been teaching studio Yoga, private and corporate Yoga for 10 years. She has led 7 domestic and international retreats, and she is fluent in French. One of Erica’s biggest passions is creating experiences for other people. Life is worth living and loving and she welcomes you to join her around the enchanting lake Atitlán. All levels and people welcome.
